Trekking to Gokyo Ri is an incredible journey known for its magnificent views of the mountains and the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest in the Nepalese Himalayas.

The adventure begins with a short flight to Lukla, where our trek amidst the peaks of some of the world's most beautiful mountains, such as Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu, begins.

The highlight will be reaching Gokyo Ri, from where you can enjoy a fantastic view of the peaks, lakes, and glacier.

Along the way, we'll rest in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize to the high altitude, explore the village of Khumjung, visit a Buddhist monastery, learn about the local culture, the life of the local people, and their customs.

We'll experience the hospitality of the indigenous inhabitants of the region - the Sherpas, tasting their dishes, and staying overnight in local guesthouses.

  • Day 3:

    Kathmandu, 5-6 hrs - Ramecha 20 mins - Lukla - 4-5 hrs Phakding, 2680 m

Early in the morning, we take a private jeep to Ramechap, where we catch a flight with local airlines for an exciting 20-minute journey to Lukla.

The flight, although short, provides unforgettable experiences, especially with clear skies allowing views of the majestic Himalayas.

Our destination for today is Phakding, where we'll arrive after several hours of trekking, ready for a well-deserved rest.

  • Day 4:

    Phakding - Namche Bazaar, 5-6 hrs, 3440 m

Today we enter Sagarmatha National Park.

Upon reaching Manjo, our guide will handle all the formalities for park entry permits. The trail leads through pine forests, alongside the Dudh Kosi River, crossing it multiple times via suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Bridge.

We end the day in Namche Bazaar, the largest settlement in the region and the main trading and administrative center.

  • Day 5:

    Namche Bazaar, 3440 m

To acclimatize our bodies to the reduced oxygen levels, we spend the day in Namche Bazaar.

We'll hike up to a viewpoint hill offering stunning vistas of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and other massive peaks. Then, we'll descend to Khumjung Valley to visit a school and the Hillary Monastery, where we might catch a glimpse of the legendary Yeti skull, before returning to Namche.

  • Day 6:

    Namche Bazaar - Dole, 5-6 hrs, 4030 m

  • Day 8:

    Machhermo - Gokyo, 5-6 hrs, 4800 m

After breakfast, we set off on our journey.

We trek past yak pastures and memorials commemorating landslide victims. The trail becomes steeper and more rugged as we progress, and we adjust our pace to the trail conditions. Before reaching Gokyo near the third Gokyo Lake, we'll stop for lunch, admire the views, and perhaps take a short stroll.
