Trekking Mardi Himal is a fantastic option for those who want to explore the charming landscape of the Annapurna region.

This trek will take you to the heart of the Himalayas, right below the massive Machhapuchhre, which lies to the east of the Annapurna Base Camp.

The popularity of this trek is increasing day by day; the Mardi Himal trail attracts fewer tourists compared to the neighboring Ghorepani Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp routes.

Therefore, the Mardi Himal trek is perfect for those seeking a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere along the way. Let's embark on the adventure!

  • Day 1:

    Kathmandu, 1400 m

Upon arrival in Nepal, a member of the Vertical Nepal team will pick you up from the airport.

After a short drive, you will reach a comfortable hotel in the heart of the city.

After some rest, we will gather with all expedition participants for a welcome dinner at one of the charming restaurants.

  • Day 2:

    Kathmandu, 1400 m

The capital of Nepal is a vibrant city, full of contrasts, beautiful monuments, and astonishing symbols.

We will explore everything from the most famous temples, places of worship, to the daily lives of the inhabitants, their warmth, spirit, and joy. Kathmandu also boasts magnificent art, from beautiful hand-painted mantras (thankas), exquisite pashmina shawls, and kukri knives to colorful yak bone jewelry.

It will be colorful, lively, and aromatic.

  • Day 3:

    Kathmandu - Pokhara, 7-8 h, 900 m

After breakfast, early in the morning, we set off for Pokhara.

The journey will take us about 8 hours, although the distance is only 200 km. The extended travel time is due to the winding road, which offers beautiful views throughout its length and will surely make the journey enjoyable.

In Pokhara, we will stay in a comfortable hotel.

  • Day 4:

    Pokhara, 900 m

Pokhara is a picturesque city located by Phewa Lake.

It is less bustling than Kathmandu but equally enchanting. We will visit all the highlights, including Devi's Fall, also known as Patale Chhango, where the water from Phewa Lake cascades into a gorge, creating a magnificent water spectacle.

We will also visit the World Peace Pagoda, a Buddhist stupa located on a hill, offering a beautiful view of Pokhara and the surrounding mountains.

It's the perfect place to meditate and enjoy the atmosphere of peace.

  • Day 5:

    Pokhara - Australian Base Camp, 6-7 h, 2060 m

After breakfast, we embark on our journey.

The first leg of the trek will be covered by jeep. After about 2 hours of driving, we will reach Kande. From there, we will proceed to the Australian Base Camp (2060 m).

The Australian Base Camp is a beautiful village offering an unobstructed view of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, Himchuli, Manaslu. We will stay overnight in a local guesthouse.

  • Day 6:

    Australian Base Camp - Forest Camp, 6-7 h, 2600 m

After an energizing breakfast, we head towards Forest Camp.

After a few hours of trekking in the shade of trees and the chirping of birds, we will reach the Forest Camp, where we will spend the night.

Forest Camp is an oasis of peace, an ideal place to rest and rejuvenate after the trekking challenges.

  • Day 7:

    Forest Camp - High Camp, 6-7 h, 3550 m

After breakfast, early in the morning, we set off on the trail.

We walk through a forest of rhododendrons until we reach Badal Danda, then the trail leads further along grassy ridges. The path gradually ascends throughout the trek to the High Camp.

We go above the hill line, feeling the temperature drop. After nearly 6-7 hours of trekking, we finally reach the High Camp.

  • Day 8:

    High Camp - Low Camp, 6-7 h, 3050 m

Very early in the morning, we set off on our journey to reach Mardi Himal Base Camp after a few hours of trekking.

The view of the Annapurna Sanctuary is spectacular.

After a few hours, we return to the High Camp, and after resting, we set off again, this time to the Low Camp, where we will stay for the night.

  • Day 9:

    Low Camp - Landruk, 6-7 h, 1565 m

After breakfast, we have a few hours of trekking with a significant decrease in altitude.

Enjoying the views, we will calmly walk to Landruk, a peaceful, traditional village known for the kindness of its inhabitants.

  • Day 10:

    Landruk - Pokhara, 5-6 h, 900 m

Syauli Bazaar is the village we will reach after about 3 hours of trekking.

Upon arrival, we will board jeeps and begin the journey back to Pokhara, reaching our destination after about 2-3 hours. We will stay at a hotel for a well-deserved rest.

  • Day 11:

    Pokhara - Kathmandu, 6-7 h, 1400 m

The journey to Kathmandu will allow us to relax and admire the changing landscape outside the vehicle window.

After several hours, we will arrive in the capital to rest at the hotel.

  • Day 12:

    Kathmandu, 1400 m

After breakfast, we will explore the city and spend time sightseeing, shopping, and relaxing.

In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner, reminiscing together about the wonderful adventure we've been part of for the past few days.

  • Day 13:

    Departure from Nepal

We will arrange transportation for you from the hotel to the airport.

If your flight is early in the morning, the hotel restaurant staff will pack breakfast for you to enjoy before your journey. Here our adventure ends.

    See you again!
