The Gosainkunda Langtang Trek is a gem of Langtang National Park, captivating travelers with its uniqueness.

Located in the northeastern region of central Nepal, not far from Kathmandu, it offers an adventure filled with magnificent views and spiritual discoveries. The trek unveils a tapestry of deep gorges, rocky terrain, pine forests, and yak pastures.

Along the way, you'll observe the life of the local people and explore interesting places such as the cheese factory in Langtang and the Kyangin Gompa monastery.

We'll trek through the picturesque Langtang Valley towards Gosaikunda Lake, known for its healing waters and spiritual significance for both Buddhists and Hindus.

Another exciting highlight on our route will be the Laurebina Pass, located at 4610 m. The Langtang Trek is the perfect choice for those wanting to taste the fullness of the Himalayas. Let's go!

  • Day 1:

    Kathmandu, 1400 m

    A representative from Vertical Nepal will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel, where we will discuss the details of our upcoming adventure.

    In the evening, we will meet for a welcome dinner.

  • Day 2:

    Kathmandu, 1400 m

    We will spend the day exploring the capital.

    Kathmandu is known for its rich history and culture that dates back thousands of years.

    The city is home to many temples, palaces, and ancient monuments that attract tourists from all over the world.

    Kathmandu's old town, known as Durbar Square, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the cultural heart of the city.

    We will show you the most beautiful places of this vibrant and colorful city.

  • Day 3:

    Kathmandu - Syabrubesi, 1503 m

    Early in the morning on the first day, we will leave Kathmandu and head to Syabrubesi, a town located 122 km away.

    We will enjoy views of rivers, fields, villages, and majestic mountains such as Ganesh Himal along the way.

    We will take a break for lunch and rest.

    Upon arrival, a perfect way to relax will be to soak in the hot spring by the river.

  • Day 4:

    Syabrubesi - Lama Hotel, 2470 m

    After breakfast, we set off on our journey along the Bhote Kosi and Langtang rivers. We will pass through forests, fields, and villages with plenty of bamboo and birch.

    Keep your eyes open, you might spot a rare red panda! As time passes, the trail gradually ascends to Rimche at an altitude of 2400 meters.

    We will end the day at Lama Hotel, a small town where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 5:

    Lama Hotel - Langtang, 3430 m

    We embark on our adventure!

    Along the way, we pass a military checkpoint, the village of Chyamki where you will see chortens and water mills. Our destination today is Langtang, one of the oldest villages on the trail inhabited by the Tamang people. The inhabitants still commemorate the victims of the 2015 earthquake, which claimed many members of their families.

    The Tamangs have rebuilt their homes, restored monasteries, to once again enjoy the beauty of this place and offer hospitality to travelers.

  • Day 6:

    Langtang - Kyanjin Gompa, 3865 m

    We have a relaxing and not too long day of trekking ahead.

    We will pass prayer walls, yak pastures, and small villages until we reach Kyanjin Gompa, an old monastery at an altitude of 3830 meters. The next day, we will explore the incredible Kyanjin Valley surrounded by mighty mountains.

    The views are spectacular!

  • Day 7:

    Kyanjin Gompa, 3865 m

    A day full of surprises.

    We will start with a visit to the Kyanjin Gompa monastery, where we can observe praying monks. The next stop will be a nearby cheese factory.

    After a relaxing start, it's time for the exciting part of the day. We will climb Tserko Ri 5033, which is the highest point of our trek.

    From the summit, there is a magnificent view of Langtang Lirung 7227 m, Yubra 6264 m, Yalla peak 5500 m, and the Langtang Himalayan range.

    Another fantastic viewpoint is Kyanjin Ri 4773 m, which takes us very close to Langtang Lirung and provides fantastic views of the Langtang range.

  • Day 8:

    Kyanjin Gompa - Lama Hotel, 7-8 hrs, 2470 m

    Leaving Kyanjin Gompa, before starting our journey for the last time, we will take one last look at the majestic mountains.

    We will descend through dense forests, valleys, and rivers until we reach Lama Hotel, where we will spend the night surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature .

  • Day 9:

    Lama Hotel - Thulo Syabru, 6-7 hrs, 2210 m

    We start the day with a hearty breakfast and set off on our way.

    The trail winds through dense rhododendron and bamboo forests, providing many opportunities to observe wildlife.

    With a bit of luck, you will see monkeys and various bird species. We will pass a small but charming waterfall and cross the Langtang Khola river.

    We will stay overnight in Thulo Syabru.

  • Day 10:

    Thulo Syabru - Cholangpati, 5-6 hrs, 3654 m

    Refreshed, we embark on our adventure!

    We walk at a steady pace, enjoying the wonderful atmosphere and soothing views. As we traverse forested areas, keep your eyes wide open; we might spot a red panda today.

    After a few hours, we reach Cholangpati, once again taking in the magnificent panorama of the Langtang massif before resting.

  • Day 11:

    Cholangpati - Gosaikunda, 6-7 hrs, 4380 m

    In the morning, the views of the surrounding peaks are most spectacular, including Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, and Jugal Himal.

    We set off through pine forests to Lauribinayak, where we will be greeted by views of the Langtang massif. We will reach a viewpoint with a statue of Buddha and then to the turquoise waters of Lake Gosaikunda, where Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims seek spiritual purification.

    You will feel the atmosphere of absolute harmony with nature.

  • Day 12:

    Gosakuinda, 4380 m

    After breakfast, we leave our belongings at our lodge and set off to explore the area, with Surya peak 5145 m as our goal.

    Along the way, we will pass a small temple. Continuing on, we will reach Lake Surya. The next stage involves a somewhat strenuous and steep ascent, but the view from the summit will reward all the effort.

    Spectacular views of the Langtang range, Naya Kang, Ganesh Himal, and Gaurishankar Himal.

  • Day 13:

    Gosakuinda - Ghopte, 8-9 hrs, 3530 m

    We start the day by descending to the edge of the lake before continuing with a steep ascent towards Laurebina Pass at 4610 m.

    As we walk, we will pass small lakes until we reach the highest point of the day marked by colorful prayer flags. From this point, we start a steady descent.

    It's a physically demanding day, but once again, the breathtaking views make it all worthwhile.

  • Day 14:

    Ghopte - Kutumsang, 6-7 hrs, 2470 m

    Today promises a very pleasant trek.

    We walk at a leisurely pace through lush forests, charming local villages, observing wildlife and soaking in the atmosphere. Upon reaching Kutumsang, a picturesque village inhabited by the Tamang people, we will be warmly welcomed in a cozy tea house, immersing ourselves in the culture of this Himalayan settlement.

  • Day 15:

    Trekking to Chisopani (2295 m), 5-6 hrs

    Leaving the hospitality of Kutumsang behind, we head downhill towards Chisapani.

    Along the way, we will admire views of mountains, villages, and forests. Upon reaching the local village of Chisapani, we will enjoy stunning views of the Langtang mountain range and admire the sunrise.

  • Day 16:

    Chisopani - Sundarijal, 1380- Kathmandu, 1400 m, 4-6 hrs

    We set out on the last day of our Himalayan trek.

    We descend for about 4 hours through oak and rhododendron forests. Along the way, we will pass a reservoir, the main drinking water source for Kathmandu residents, and the source of the Bagmati River.

    We continue our descent to Sundarijal, from where a one-hour drive awaits us to Kathmandu.

  • Day 17:

    Kathmandu, 1400 m

    After a restful sleep and a hearty breakfast, we once again immerse ourselves in the magical atmosphere of Kathmandu, the bustling city.

    Bustling Thamel will welcome us with openness as we follow the trail of aromatic spices, beautiful handicrafts, and soothing music.

    We will relax in the Garden of Dreams and meet in the evening for a farewell dinner.

  • Day 18:

    Departure from Nepal

    We will drive you to the airport from where you will embark on your return journey.

    If your flight is early in the morning, the hotel staff will pack your breakfast so you can enjoy it while waiting at the airport.
