The trail to Everest Base Camp is one of the most beautiful trekking routes in Nepal.

With us, you will reach the very heart of the world's highest mountains, experience the culture of the inhabitants of the Khumbu Valley, their warmth and hospitality, which will leave a lasting impression.

The route from the very beginning is abundant in breathtaking Himalayan panoramas, leading through mountain villages, hanging steel bridges crossing rushing streams.

The daily hardships of the trek will be rewarded with rest in tea houses, where we will eat aromatic specialties of Nepalese cuisine and spend the night. After a few days, we will reach our destination, the legendary EBC; you will see the place from which future conquerors set off for the highest mountain in the world, and upon reaching Kala Pattar, you will see Mount Everest in all its glory.

  • Day 1:

    Kathmandu, 1400 m

A member of the Vertical Nepal team will pick you up from the airport, and after a short drive, you'll reach a comfortable hotel.

In the evening, we will gather with the entire group for a welcome dinner.

  • Day 2:

    Kathmandu, 1400 m

After breakfast, we will set out to explore Kathmandu.

It is the largest city in Nepal, home to many temples such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) and Pashupatinath, as well as palaces including Durbar Square. We will show you the most interesting sights.

Kathmandu is also a hub for shopping, where you can buy local handicrafts, clothing, and souvenirs, and we will have time for that as well.

  • Day 3:

    Lukla - Phakding, 3-4 hrs, 2610 m

After breakfast, we will head to the Ramechap airport (5-6 hrs drive), from where we will fly to Lukla.

We will stop for lunch at a place with a beautiful panorama. The 20-minute flight to Lukla is a very exciting experience; under clear skies, you will admire the Himalayan giants from a bird's eye view, breathtaking views.

Upon landing, our team will be joined by porters who will take care of your luggage for the rest of the trip (you carry a small backpack with essential items).

This is where our trek begins. The trail from Lukla to Phakding is a scenic stretch of the route, marking the initial stage of the journey to Everest Base Camp. We will pass through charming villages, green hills, and crystal-clear streams.

Along the way, we will cross wooden bridges over the rushing waters of the Dudh Koshi River, while we will cross with modern, steel, and very safe ones. As we descend, the views of the majestic peaks of the Himalayas surrounding you will add a magical character to the hike.

After about 8 km, we will reach Phakding, a small village by the river, where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 4:

    Phakding - Namche Bazaar, 5-6 hrs, 3440 m

After resting and enjoying a delicious breakfast, we set off.

The trail from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is another stage of the trek to Everest Base Camp. Starting from Phakding, we will traverse the banks of the Dudh Koshi River, passing through picturesque villages and crossing distinctive suspension bridges. As the terrain ascends, you will notice a change in the landscape.

Passing through dense pine and fir forests, we will reach the village of Monjo, where we will register our group in Sagarmatha National Park. Then, tackling steep ascents, we will cross Hillary Bridge, which will take you to the other side of the river.

Another ascent leads to Namche Bazaar, a picturesque town nestled on the mountainside. After a more challenging terrain and about 11 km of trekking, we will reach our destination.

We will stay overnight in a tea house run by local residents of the Khumbu Valley.

  • Day 5:

    Namche Bazaar, 3440 m

Acclimatization plays a crucial role in preparing for further trekking in the Everest region.

We will spend the day on active rest and gentle walks around the area to allow the body to adjust to the reduced oxygen levels at higher altitudes. During acclimatization, we will visit the nearby Everest View Hotel viewpoint, where you will see Everest for the first time!

Additionally, a stroll around Namche Bazaar will allow you to get acquainted with the culture and daily life of the local community. The town also has souvenir shops, cafes, and restaurants, making your time here both practical and enjoyable.

This form of acclimatization will minimize the risk of altitude sickness and better prepare you for the further stages of the trek.

  • Day 6:

    Namche Bazaar - Tengboche, 5-6 hrs, 3850 m

After an energetic breakfast, we set off from Namche, traversing terrain at various elevations, admiring the Himalayan panoramas, passing through villages, and observing the local way of life.

During the hike, we will pass through the viewpoint in Sanasa and then descend to the village of Phunki Thanga, where we will cross the Dudh Koshi River. Further steep ascents will lead us to Tengboche, home to one of the most important monasteries in the region.

We will visit its interior! This magical place offers beautiful panoramas, and the monastery is a place of prayer and contemplation. Tengboche is also an excellent place for acclimatization and enjoying the views of the surrounding mountains. We will rest in a tea house and stay overnight.

  • Day 7:

    Tengboche - Dingboche, 5-6 hrs, 4410 m

We start another day of trekking in the morning.

Leaving Tengboche, we descend through fir and pine forests while gaining altitude. The trail offers beautiful views of nearby mountain peaks, including the impressive Ama Dablam.

The next stage involves passing through the village of Debuche and then continuing the hike towards the Imja Khola River. Crossing it, we will climb steep slopes and reach Dingboche, located on an open plateau.

Dingboche is one of the highest permanent settlements in the world, and you will enjoy views of surrounding mountains such as Island Peak and Lhotse.

  • Day 8:

    Dingboche, 4410 m

We will stay in Dingboche today for acclimatization.

Acclimatization in Dingboche is a key stage during the trek. We will spend the day actively hiking on local hills to gradually acclimatize the body to the reduced atmospheric pressure.

It's also an excellent opportunity to enjoy spectacular views of nearby mountain peaks. We will return for lunch, and the rest of the day until dinner will be for relaxation.

  • Day 9:

    Dingboche - Lobuche, 5-6 hrs, 4910 m

The journey from Dingboche to Lobuche is another stage of the trek towards our goal.

The trail leads through open spaces, offering impressive views of mountains such as Ama Dablam and Island Peak. During the hike, we will pass rocky terrain, cross one of the bridges over the river, and ascend onto the Khumbu Glacier remaining from the mini-glacier.

Then, we will reach Dughla, where there is a stupa dedicated to the memory of climbers who lost their lives on their way to Mt Everest. Continuing the ascent, we will reach Lobuche, located at an altitude of approximately 4,910 meters above sea level.

Lobuche is the last stop before the final ascent to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp.

  • Day 10:

    Lobuche - EBC, 8-9 hrs, 5364 m

The trail from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (EBC) is an exciting stage of trekking through the high terrain of the Himalayas.

Starting from Lobuche, we climb onto the Khumbu Glacier and ascend the valley, passing majestic mountain walls. Then we will reach Gorak Shep 5190 m, where we will have lunch and leave our belongings before continuing our trek to Everest Base Camp. The trail leads through rocky and sandy areas until it reaches the base camp, usually after about 3-4 hours.

At Everest Base Camp, you will experience a unique feeling, standing in the shadow of the highest peak in the world. The views of the glaciers and mountain peaks are unforgettable.

Everest is not visible from this place, but we will make up for it the next day. We will return to Gorak Shep, where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 11:

    Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar - Pheriche, 2-3 hrs, 5545 m - 5-6 hrs, 4240 m

Kala Patthar, reaching a height of about 5,545 meters, offers some of the most spectacular views of Everest and nearby peaks.

We set off very early. The trail leads steeply uphill. Although the climb is not very long, the terrain is demanding due to the altitude.

After about 2.5 hours, we will reach the summit of Kala Patthar, where you will see breathtaking views of the sunrise over Everest, which is one of the most epic experiences in this part of the world.

It's worth being prepared for a chilly morning, but the views that Kala Patthar offers are a reward worth every effort.

  • Day 12:

    Pheriche - Monjo, 5-6 hrs, 2800 m

Our goal is Monjo, a charming village where we will stop for rest and sleep.

  • Day 13:

    Monjo - Lukla, 5-6 hrs, 2860 m

We will spend the last day on the trail enjoying the views on the way to Lukla, where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 14:

Spare day in case of bad weather

If the weather is nice, we will use this day to extend the return journey or have an extra day of rest in the capital of Nepal.

  • Day 15:

    Lukla - Kathmandu

We will fly from Lukla to Ramechap for 20 minutes, from where we will travel comfortably by mountain road to Kathmandu.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we will go for a well-deserved rest.

  • Day 16:

    Kathmandu, 1400 m

We will spend the day exploring the most interesting sights of Kathmandu.

In the evening, we will gather for a farewell dinner to relive the joyful moments once again, reminiscing about our journey.

  • Day 17:
